About Eleni

Eleni Tassopoulos Wehner is a former ultrasound tech turned stay-at-home-mom living with her family in St. Louis. Published author was never on her life’s bingo card. However, upon noticing the lack of realistic representation of autistic and other neurodivergent children and their families, she was compelled to write kidlit. As an autistic woman herself, her parenting strategies are better suited for neurodivergent children than other alternatives. These strategies became the board book series, Roscoe and Ivy (Barefoot Books, Autumn 2025).

Eleni’s home is where all her kids’ friends come to hang out! Whether it’s their annual Halloween party or a weekend Nerf battle, there is plenty of chaos and laughter. Her parenting style is compassionate, loving, and silly with a touch of “We CAN do hard things!”.

When she’s not wrangling kids, she is doing something creative. Before moving to St. Louis, she sold hand-sculpted, clay jewelry at a small-business in Lexington, KY. Painting is another specialty of hers, including two wall-sized murals her children convinced her to create in their home. She isn’t a published illustrator yet but is hoping to illustrate her own books in the future.
